Control Engineering, part of CFE Media, awarded products in 27 categories of control, instrumentation, and automation products introduced in 2015, as chosen by print and online subscribers. This is the 29th year of product recognition for the publication. More than 100 product nominations from 60 companies were entered for consideration in the 2016 Engineers’ Choice Awards. Control Engineering subscribers examined more than 100 Engineers’ Choice finalists.They were asked to consider technological advancement, service to the industry, and market impact.Engineers’ Choice Award winners and honorable mentions were named in 27 categories.
ICONICS’ KPIWorX won the 2016 Control Engineering Engineers’ Choice Award in the category Software — Mobile Apps for Controls, Automation, Instrumentation. KPIWorX allows for the creation, saving and loading of self-service dashboards, providing a user-friendly interface. Users can drag and drop data, configure widgets, split screens to add new widgets and save dashboards into a Favorites locations. Several preconfigured widgets are included, such as gauges, process points, trends, alarms and grids. KPIWorX displays automatically adjust for various data sources as well as smaller fonts, smaller margins and keyboard handling. It is especially useful for on-the-spot display creation for visualizing data as it is needed. KPIWorX displays can also be transferred to desktop mode for sharing.
Iconics received also an honorable mention for AssetWorX in the category Software — Control Design.
AssetWorX Asset Classes contain all properties, equations, commands and operations available, as well as graphic templates, smart symbols and trends that are needed to visualize and provide insight for that type of equipment. Once defined, simply instantiate the class at the appropriate level of the enterprise hierarchy to fully define all equipment and entities to be monitored.
In addition, a growing list of intelligent providers is available that can be embedded in an asset, such as Energy AnalytiX and FDDWorX Fault Detection and Diagnostics.
